As the capital of Peru, Lima is one of the largest and most impressive cities in all of South America. It is known as the City of Kings and also recognized as one of the world's premier destinations for food, boasting 2 of the Top 5 Restaurants in the World!

During this full day tour of Lima you will explore the very best of the city, from the colonial architecture of the historic center to pre-Colombian art and seaside neighborhoods.

You will experience the gorgeous interior of the San Francisco Convent, tour the Museo Larco and learn of Lima’s earliest history in the coastal town of Miraflores.

We will pick you up directly from your hotel, the first stop will be the historic city-center of Lima. From this spot you will recognize one of Peru’s most well-known liberators, Jose de San Martin.

The next stop on the tour is a massive cathedral called the Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco, Lima. Also known as the St. Francis Monastery in English, the church and convent were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1991. This site contains a world-renowned library with over 25,000 antique texts! In its catacombs beneath, it is estimated that this same number of people were laid to rest. During the tour you can explore the once hidden passages and observe the uniquely displayed remains of first Limeños.

Your next stop will be the Plaza de Armas (Plaza Mayor), Lima, Lima Region where you will spend a few minutes in the heart of Lima. The Plaza de Armas is home to the Presidential Palace, Arch Bishop’s Palace, Cathedral and Municipal buildings and is usually a lively place filled with people and various forms of entertainment.

Following this visit to the city’s center you will be taken to the Museo Larco, which is perched atop a seventh century pyramid. This vice-royal mansion is stunning as are its meticulously cared for gardens. Get your cameras ready! The portion of the tour consists of captivating history, a 45,000-piece store of antiquities and an intriguing erotic collection (you can skip this room if touring with younger children).


Afterwards you will have time to enjoy a delicious lunch surrounded by colorful gardens on the outdoor patio of the museum cafe.

Following lunch you will be taken to the Huaca Pucllana for a brief stop to observe Lima’s most famous solid pyramid, which was used as a ceremonial site for the inhabitants from 200 to 700 AD. You are not able to participate in a full tour of the site, but will be able to observe from the outside.

The next stop on the tour is the El Parque del Amor. This is an artistic park located on the sea-side cliffs of Miraflores. You will have time to observe the para gliders sailing over head and local young couples strolling along the paths dedicated to lovers everywhere. This is a great place to snap a quick photo of you and a loved one!

From here you will head to the Miraflores region of Lima, where you can experience the more contemporary side of the city. This area has incredible ocean front views and beautiful parks. Included in this portion of the tour are stops at the Huaca Pucllana and Parque de Amor (Love Park).

The final stop of the tour is Morro Solar, which is located at 825ft. (251 m.) above sea level. From this vantage point you will have a wonderful view of the Pacific Coastline.

The tour ends with a transfer back to your hotel.
