WE HAVE A 5-STAR RATING ON TRIPADVISOR - AND WE WORK HARD TO KEEP IT THAT WAY!

This review is only based on my experience with their customer service. Due to unforseen circumstances my group was not able to go on our scheduled trek.
My group... read more originally booked the Inca Trail, but due to heavy rains the trail was washed out and closed for the entire first half of March. Kusa Treks helped us arrange an alternative route through Salkantay with almost zero effort from us. But as fate would have it, an avalanche would also destroy that trail in late February.
Without missing a beat, Kusa Treks offered us a full refund on our deposits and offered to hold our tickets to Machu Picchu. And once again we were struck with bad luck. COVID-19 was declared a global pandemic. As we scrambled to leave Peru, airbnbs and uber drivers refused to take us simply because we were foreigners. I notified Kusa Treks we would not be able to use the Machu Picchu tickets and without a beat they offered us a refund. We were shocked with how easy it was!
In the face of bad weather, a global pandemic, and an over abundance of bad luck, it seemed like the only good luck we had was picking Kusa Treks. Know that when everything that could go wrong, goes wrong, they won't leave you hanging. Would 100% recommend them to anyone!!

My husband and I learned of Kusa Treks via a family member who'd used their services recently. When I reached out to Michael at Kusa, he very promptly sent me... read more an itinerary based on our interests, which included Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca. He, Megan, and Erik provided excellent communication. All transfers were on time, and our tour of Machu Picchu with Jimmy was fantastic. I really felt more connected to Machu Picchu after having Jimmy as our guide.
There were only a couple times of miscommunication, but this was resolved quickly and without damaging the relationship. We were even refunded a lunch that had been on our original itinerary but we did not have, for one reason or another.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Kusa to anyone traveling in Peru. They provide excellent service based on the client's interests, communicate well, and put the client first.

I recently returned from Peru where my brother and I hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu with Kusa Treks. Aldo, our guide was wonderful, and we learned so much... read more about the history of the Incas and Machu Picchu. Aldo is such a wonderful, caring person and so knowledgeable about the Inca sites along the trail as well as the flora and fauna. Although the trek was tough, going up and down the many steps on the trail, it was well worth it when we reached the top of Dead Woman's Pass and also the Sun Gate above Machu Picchu. All along the trail Aldo encouraged us and kept us going until we hit the campsite for lunch each day and the campsite each night. Everyone from Kusa Treks was amazing. The porters carried all the equipment including the food that our chef turned into wonderful meals. Everything we needed was provided. It was a trip of a lifetime and one which Kusa Treks definately enhanced. I would recommend Kusa Treks for any of there treks in Peru. More

Both our guys, Henri for the Sacred Valley and Felipe for the Machu Picchu trail where amazing. They both are locals from the Cuzco region and they were able to transmit the love and passion they have for their country to the group. Our group had the time of our lives and got to see some really remote spots. The guides knew their stuff and helped us find the best sites. The support staff was incredible, with some of the best cooking I've ever had while on a camping trek and the most courteous horsemen. The drivers got us quickly and safely where we needed to be through Peruvian roads and traffic! The booking process itself was easy and everyone was available to answer questions. I would definitely recommend Kusa Treks for your Peru adventures. We went with a group of five and they were able to work with us to make a trip that seemed custom tailored to exactly what our group wanted to do!

Our 4 day hike on the Inca trail was absolutely incredible and we attribute that to Kusa Treks. The food was gourmet and delicious. The porters (amazing men who carried... read more all of our things and set up our tents, etc) were super heroes. Our guide, Aldo, was the most kind, caring, supportive, and knowledgable leader we could have asked for. There were parts of the trail that were challenging and sometimes scary (dead woman's pass and walking down steep, sometimes slippery stairs) but these challenges were met with patience and encouragement by the team. We never felt rushed or like we were going too slow, which made the trip more enjoyable. Though the trail itself was challenging, every moment was worth it!
We also took part in the Cusco city tour and the Maras and Moray tours and had an amazing time touring Cusco with Kusa Treks by our side.
We have no regrets about booking with Kusa Treks and would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

The service and experience was impeccable. So far, this is the highlight of my Peruvian travels. Also, the beauty of the Andes doesn’t hurt. We just got back from a trip to Peru where we used Kusa Treks for different tours and transfers. Communication pre-trip with Michael (and later Megan) was excellent, super speedy... read more and efficient. Erik, Kusa Trek’s owner, surprised us by meeting us at the airport for our transfer and gave us a great orientation and briefing on the city (we expected this pre-trek but most definitely not upon arrival to Cusco). Erik is charismatic and relaxed and has a gift for putting clients at ease. We did the city tour of Cusco with Aldo the following day. He was very knowledgeable and accommodated a change in the usual itinerary (per our request) without batting an eye. We enjoyed our improv tour of the market and we loved learning about local products and customs. The following day we visited Moray and Moras with Edwar. Making lunch together with local women was a definite highlight! The next day we started our 3n/4d Lares and Inca Trail trek with Edwar as our guide. The Lares Trek, although challenging due to the altitude, was absolutely stunning and so worth it! Between the Lares Trek and Inca Trail we actually preferred the former. Kusa Trek’s support staff (Juancarlos, Angel, Francisco & Victor) were AMAZING, super efficient and kind. Juancarlos even surprised me with a cake on our last day together. Kusa Treks’ equipment was top-notch so don’t hesitate about renting directly from them. Supporting small & local was very important to us so choosing Kusa Treks (based on reviews and our initial impressions) was a no-brainer for us. We were very pleased with our choice.

Combining these two gave us the best of both worlds. The food that Chef Juan Carlos and Angel were able to cook while camping was amazing. Our entire trekking team made the experience great. More
