The majority of trips to Machu Picchu begin and end in Cusco, Peru (city in the bottom right of the map).
To reach Machu Picchu you have the option to do a trek or do a tour by train, in either case you will take a train back to Cusco from Aguas Calientes (the town nearest to Machu Picchu).
For the return trip, there are two routes available:
1. Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo, followed by a 2 hour drive by van to Cusco from the train station.
2. Aguas Calientes to Poroy, followed by 30 minute drive by van to Cusco from the train station.
You have three options for which class of train to take:
1. Expedition Train (included in all of our prices)
2. Vista Dome Train (Additional $70/person)
3. Hiram Bingham Train (Additional $500+/person)
